Hojicha Cheese Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2-3 slices of mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Topping

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 5 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp hojicha powder
  • 1/4 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the topping by mixing the butter, flour, egg, powdered sugar, and hojicha with hot water until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag.
  2. Place the cheese slices between the two slices of bread.
  3. Pipe the topping mixture onto the top of the bread.
  4. Toast in a preheated oven at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, until golden.
