Hotpot

Ingredients

  • Thin meat slices (I use short ribs)
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 scallion
  • 1/4 purple cabbage
  • 2 shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 shimeji mushroom
  • 1 enoki mushroom
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 napa cabbage
  • Yellow/red bell peppers
  • 3-5 okra
  • 1 lotus root

Spicy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp black vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp MSG
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Scallion and cilantro
  • Salt and pepper, as needed

Sesame Sauce

  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 5 tbsp sesame paste
  • 1 tsp fermented tofu
  • 1/4 tsp MSG
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Roll the vegetables in the meat slices and assemble them in a steaming tray.
  2. Place the steaming tray or basket in a pan and steam for 20 minutes, or until the meat is cooked and the vegetables have softened.
  3. Dip in the sauce condiments and enjoy.
