Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 egg
- 1 lime
- 3 slices cucumber
- Thai basil
- 2 shallots
- 3 tbsp lard
Garlic Pepper Paste
- 10 cloves garlic
- 3-5 Thai chilies (adjust as needed)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
Sauce
- 2 tbsp coconut aminos or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp kecap manis
Instructions
- Prepare the garlic pepper paste and sauce first.
- Heat a wok over high heat, cook the garlic pepper paste and diced shallot with lard until fragrant
- Add the ground pork and stir-fry until all the juices are gone and the meat starts to caramelize.
- Add the sauce mixture.
- Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until well combined.
- Lastly, add the basil and turn off the heat. Continue stirring for another minute
- Serve it with rice, fried egg and cucumber slices.
