Spicy Dumpling Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6-7 soup dumplings
  • 2 tbsp scallions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp fried peanuts
  • 5-6 dried chili peppers
  • 2 tbsp hot oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chili powder or Sichuan chili powder
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Steam the dumplings until fully cooked.
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients.
  3. Heat 2-3 tbsp of neutral oil in a pan until it reaches 380°F. Carefully add the dried chili peppers to the hot oil.
  4. Pour the hot oil and chili peppers over the sauce mixture in the bowl.
  5. Heat the chicken broth until it is hot.
  6. Pour the hot chicken broth over the sauce mixture and stir to combine.
  7. Add the steamed dumplings to the bowl and mix gently to coat them with the sauce.
