Chinese Steamed Egg

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs 
  • 500ml chicken broth 
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil 
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce 
  • Scallions and chili oil for toppings 
  • Water for steaming 

Instructions

  1. Whisk the eggs in a bowl you’re steaming with. 
  2. Add water or chicken broth while whisking until well combined. 
  3. Bring water to a boil in a steaming pan, then place the bowl inside. 
  4. Steam on medium heat for 10 minutes, then reduce to low and steam for another 10 minutes. 
  5. Let it sit covered for 5 minutes before uncovering. 
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and light soy sauce before serving.
