Bolo Toast with Caviar

Ingredients

  • 2 slices milk bread
  • 40 g salted butter (or unsalted + 1 tsp salt)
  • 40 g flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • A small pinch of turmeric
  • 3 slices butter (for sandwich)
  • A spoonful of caviar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the room-temperature butter, sugar, milk, baking soda, flour, and turmeric until smooth and well combined.
  2. Spread the mixture evenly over the bread slices and use a knife to create a cross-hatch pattern on top.
  3. Bake at 400 °F (200 °C) for 12 minutes, until golden.
  4. Assemble the sandwich by adding butter between the slices and placing a spoonful of caviar in the center.
  5. Slice in half and enjoy!
