Mini Burger Mooncakes

Ingredients

  • 1 pack King’s Hawaiian Slider Buns
  • 3 slices cheddar cheese
  • ½ lb ground pork or beef
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced shallot
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp Sichuan pepper oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground meat with garlic, shallot, ginger, Sichuan pepper oil, salt, and sugar. Form into 12 small patties.
  2. Cut each cheese slice into 4 small squares to make 12 pieces total.
  3. Heat a pan or grill with a bit of oil. Cook the patties until golden brown, then top each with a cheese square. Cover briefly to let the cheese melt.
  4. Lightly toast the insides of the slider buns. Stack each bun with a cheesy patty.
  5. Let them cool slightly, then press each slider into a mooncake mold for that signature shape and enjoy!
