Crispy Shrimp Toast

Ingredients

  • 300g shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • 1.5 tbsp potato starch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1-2 scallions (chopped)
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tsp each: minced garlic, ginger, sugar
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • Pinch of MSG (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for coating)
  • 1 pack of King’s hawaiian bread (crusts removed)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Mix Filling: Chop shrimp into a paste. Mix with potato starch, salt, scallions, egg white, sesame oil, white pepper, garlic, ginger, sugar, soy sauce, and MSG.
  2. Assemble: Spread shrimp mix onto bread slices and coat the sides with sesame seeds.
  3. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F. Fry 2-3 minutes until golden. Flip and fry the other side for another 1-2 mins.
  4. Serve: Drain on paper towels and enjoy with dipping sauce.
