Caramelized Onion Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette 
  • 2 sweet onions 
  • 1 tbsp calabrian sauce 
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp butter 
  • 2 heads garlic 
  • 1 rosmery  
  • 1 thyme 
  • Salt and pepper as needed 
  • 2 tbsp Fromager d’Affnois Garlic and Herbs 
  • Parsley for garnish 

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven – Set your oven to 380°F (193°C). 
  2. Roast the Onions & Garlic
    1. In a baking pan, combine sliced onions, Calabrian chili sauce, olive oil, butter, halved garlic heads (cut side up), rosemary, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. 
    2. Toss gently to coat everything. 
    3. Roast uncovered for about 40 minutes, stirring once or twice until the onions are soft and caramelized. 
  3. Prepare the Spread
    1. Remove the pan from the oven. 
    2. Squeeze out the roasted garlic cloves and discard the skins. 
    3. Mix the softened garlic into the caramelized onions. 
    4. Stir in the Fromager d’Affinois cheese until smooth and creamy. 
  4. Assemble the Toasts
    1. Spread a generous layer of the onion mixture onto the baguette slices. 
    2. Arrange on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and golden. 
  5. Finish & Serve
