Double Layer Onigirazu

Ingredients

  • 2 large sheets of seaweed (nori)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 tbsp furikake
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp tuna
  • 5 slices cucumber
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Lay out the two nori sheets and lightly brush the edges with water to stick them together.
  2. Make a cut on one side of the sheet slightly away from the center, and another cut halfway across the other side—this will create six quadrants for folding.
  3. Add fillings to each quadrant: start with rice in the first, then cucumber, tuna, egg, avocado, and finish with rice again. (You can customize the fillings, but if using rice, start and end with rice to create a solid exterior that holds everything together.)
  4. Fold each quadrant over the fillings to form a compact sandwich.
  5. Wrap tightly with paper or plastic wrap to hold it together, then cut in half and enjoy!

  1. Thanks for this…will definitely make it

    Which rice do you use?

  2. Thank you!

  3. I love it! I made it today. But I only used one sheet of seaweed.

  4. Made it for a healthier lunch and used spicy tuna & added thin sliced red onion. Pretty damn good.
