Crispy Potato Balls in the Air Fryer

Ingredients

Potato Balls

  • 3 Russet potatoes (ideal for frying)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp rice flour (for extra crispiness)
  • 3 tbsp glutinous rice flour
  • Cooking spray or oil

Chili Sauce

  • 2 tbsp garlic, diced
  • 1 tbsp scallions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Thai chilies, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 5 tbsp hot oil
  • 1 tbsp Chin-Su chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, then mash until smooth.
  2. Mix in the rice flour, glutinous rice flour, and salt, kneading to form a smooth dough.
  3. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls with your hands.
  4. Place the potato balls in the air fryer, spray generously with oil, and cook at 400°F for 15 minutes, flipping and spraying halfway through.
  5. Remove and let rest for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with the chili dipping sauce: combine garlic, scallions, Thai chilies, sesame seeds, chili powder, hot oil, Chin-Su chili sauce, and fish sauce.
