Ingredients
- 1 ripe watermelon
- 40g milk or heavy cream
- 4g matcha powder
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon in half. Scoop out some of the flesh from the center of one half to create a shallow hollow.
- Wrap both watermelon halves tightly with plastic wrap. Place one half in the freezer and the other in the refrigerator.
- Freeze the watermelon overnight, or until the flesh is completely frozen and firm.
- When ready to serve, use a melon baller or measuring spoon to scoop small watermelon balls from the refrigerated half. Set aside.
- Make the matcha milk by whisking the matcha powder with the milk until smooth and well incorporated.
- Remove the frozen watermelon half from the freezer and slowly pour in the matcha milk. Using a spoon, gently scrape and churn the frozen watermelon flesh into the matcha mixture.
- Continue scraping and churning until the mixture becomes thick and creamy. For a richer texture, add a splash of heavy cream and continue mixing until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately and top with the fresh watermelon balls.
